9 โรคใหม่มีสาเหตุจากบุหรี่ !!!

ในโอกาสครบรอบห้าสิบปีของการประกาศว่า การสูบบุหรี่ เป็นสาเหตุสำคัญของ โรคมะเร็งปอด และโรคเรื้อรังอื่น ๆ ล่าสุดมีการรับรองว่า 9 โรคใหม่ ที่เกิดจากการสูบบุหรี่ หรือได้รับควันบุหรี่มือสองจากผู้อื่นได้แก่

1. มะเร็งตับ

2. มะเร็งลำไส้

3. วัณโรค ทำให้มีความเสี่ยงในการเป็นวัณโรคมากขึ้น เสียชีวิตมากขึ้นและกลับมาเป็นซ้ำมากขึ้นด้วย

4. เพิ่มความเสี่ยงในการเป็นเบาหวานถึงร้อยละ 30-40 เทียบกับผู้ที่ไม่สูบ

5. จอประสาทตาเสื่อมซึ่งจะสัมพันธ์กับอายุที่เพิ่มขึ้น

6. เพดานปากแหว่งตั้งแต่เกิด ในแม่ที่สูบบุหรี่

7. ตั้งครรภ์นอกมดลูก

8. โรคข้อรูมาตอยด์และภาวะภูมิต้านทานร่างกายลดลง

9. โรคเส้นเลือดในสมองตีบหรือโรคเส้นเลือดในสมองแตกจากการได้รับควันบุหรี่มือสอง

ซึ่งรายงานฉบับนี้มีความสำคัญมากต่อประเทศไทย เพราะโรคมะเร็งตับ มะเร็งลำไส้ เป็นโรคมะเร็งที่ชายไทยเป็นมากที่สุด ในขณะที่เบาหวานและวัณโรคก็เป็นโรคที่คนไทยเพิ่มจำนวนมากขึ้น เป็นผลมากจากการสูบบุหรี่ของชายไทยที่สูงขึ้น งานนี้นอกจากผู้สูบบุหรี่ต้องรักษาสุขภาพของตัวเองแล้ว งานควบคุมยาสูบในประเทศไทยก็ยังต้องการความร่วมมือจากทุกภาคส่วน รวมทั้งรัฐบาลอย่างจริงจังในการควบคุมด้วย
